Funding safe haven programs for survivors with pets in resource-scarce regions.

The Safe Havens for Pets Desert Grant program was launched in 2024 to encourage the development of sheltering services for people and pets affected by domestic violence in areas of the country where such resources are scarce—areas we identified as “safe haven deserts.” AWI is pleased to offer up to $20,000 in grant funding for 2-year projects that support domestic violence survivors with pets in these regions. The target area for the Safe Havens for Pets Desert Grant is based on recent research and changes on an annual basis.

The application is not open at this time.
