Niki Sebastino
Website Administrator, Communications
Niki joined AWI in 2024 and is responsible for maintaining and developing AWI’s websites. Previously, she spent over a decade working for corporations, advertising agencies, and as a freelance web developer. Niki earned a BA from Virginia Tech. Prior to college, however, she graduated high school early to become a professional dressage rider, competing up and down the Eastern Seaboard from Florida to Vermont and working at various horse farms. Before earning her degree, she also spent a year as a veterinary technician.
Niki has had a lifelong interest in the welfare of sentient beings. She maintains a certified bird and pollinator habitat at her home, and constantly works to add more native plants and beneficial habitats for mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians. When not out in the yard, Niki enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband and kids, and she continues to ride and train horses to compete in dressage. Her family includes six animals (four of them rescues): a domestic shorthair cat (Ruth), two rat terriers (Brandy and Lucy), and three horses (Stratus, a Connemara pony; Stella, a Georgian Grande; and Desi, a Percheron/Arab).
