Kayleigh Murdock, PhD

Kayleigh is responsible for helping to craft messaging for both social and traditional media about AWI’s work and advocacy. She joined AWI in 2025.
Kayleigh holds a BA in English as well as an MA and PhD in Communications with an emphasis in animal welfare communications. Before coming to AWI, Kayleigh also performed public relations work for multiple open-admission animal shelters.
Kayleigh is a lifelong animal lover and has devoted both her personal and professional lives to the pursuit of a better world for animals of all kinds. She shares her home with four beloved rescue pets: Lady (dog), Squint (cat), Gothmog (cat), and Morgana (cat). When not working or caring for her pets, Kayleigh enjoys reading, finding new vegan dishes to try, and volunteering with shelter dogs.
