Call on Congress to Stop the Slaughter of American Horses
The Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act has been introduced in the House of Representatives by Reps. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), and in the Senate by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Ben Ray Luján (D-NM). This bill would permanently ban horse slaughter in the United States, while ensuring that American horses are not exported out of the country for the same purpose. Use AWI’s Action Center to write or call your US representative and senators today and urge them to cosponsor the SAFE Act (H.R. 1661/S. 775).
